ABOUT THE PROJECT
Shanghai/ Beijing based Photographer and Graphic Designer Alexandra Diez de Rivera works on creating alternative portraits. She places her subjects in settings that share information about their personality and lifestyle and seeks to reveal a story with each photograph.

Every detail from composition to wardrobe to posture to expression is Art Directed in order to create a "mise en scène" that sets a unique ambiance for each tale.

The line between real and surreal is merged through the use of digital skills and the viewer is left challenged as to where the real world ends and the story begins...

CLIENT COMMENTS
“We had a fantastic experience with Alex when she created our unique portrait. She was fun, energetic and full of ideas. We love our piece and enjoy seeing every new one she creates” Kate Lorenz, Shanghai.

“We believe Alexandra can bring in image any kind of feelings you want to express, promote or remember for many years to come! Her magic photgraphic eye can catch the right moment, and her creative ability finds the right set up to create the atmosphere you have in mind. Besides, she makes herself entirely available for your dream, listen to your expectations and manage to change a possible boring photo session into a very enjoyable time spent with friends or family". Emmanuel Beydon-Schlumberger, Shanghai.

“Alexandra took our family portrait, I'd like to recommend her because her alternative project is really a great idea and less traditional than a static family portrait. We had also a good time during the shoot.” Philippe Boué, Shanghai.
